EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION

MR135 - 1.5T Signa Excite HD EchoSpeed 8 Ch MR System

The 1.5T EXCITE HD EchoSpeed system is a high-performance, whole-body MR system powered by

EXCITE High Definition technology and featuring an actively-shielded magnet, detachable patient table,

actively-shielded high-fidelity gradients, and phased array digital RF electronics. On the EXCITE HD

EchoSpeed 8 Channel configuration, the EXCITE High Definition data pipeline delivers imaging through 8

independent data channels linked to the SVP8 Symmetric Vector Processor that provides 850 2DFFT

operations per second for a matrix of 256x256 with simultaneous image reconstruction and acquisition.

On the EXCITE HD EchoSpeed platform each gradient can attain an amplitude of 33 mT/m at a slew rate

of 120 mT/m/ms with the most accurate and repeatable waveforms to ensure the highest possible image

quality. This configuration also includes a Quadrature transmit/receive RF head coil.

Patient Transport - The patient table and transport includes a detachable table with automated vertical

and longitudinal power drives for easy patient positioning and maximum patient safety. The table can be

easily docked and undocked by a single operator. As a result, emergency patient extraction can be

typically performed in less than 30 seconds eliminating the need for 1.5T compatible emergency

equipment. The table includes a self-storing, non-ferrous IV pole, table pad and positioning pads, safety

rails and security straps.

Mobile Installation Configuration - This configuration is designed for installation into a mobile van and

includes a complete mobile phased-array cable kit. The mobile van vendor will provide chilled water for

the gradient heat exchanger the cold head compressor. This configuration also includes a gradient heat

exchanger.

Operator Console and User Interface - The operator console consists of the Linux computer, LCD

monitor, scan control keyboards and chair. The computer components are housed in a single tower

configuration, and the flat panel display monitor provides high, 1280x1024, resolution with a 300:1

contrast ratio. The English scan control keyboard is ergonomically designed and contains an intercom

speaker, microphone, volume controls and emergency stop switch. This configuration also includes a

modem or broadband connection that links the system to FEHC InSite Service Engineers enabling

remote diagnostic and optimum system performance.

The EXCITE HD User Interface Leverages the Linux computer platform to enhance productivity through

single-screen proscriptions for most protocols and includes Secure Coil Connect, that eliminates coil

connection errors, ProtoCopy, that facilitates the development and rapid transfer of scan protocols, and

Vector Gating for highly reliable ECG Triggering.

EXCITE HD ScanTools - The EXCITE HD ScanTools Package delivers a full range of pulse sequences

and analysis software for whole-body imaging on the EXCITE technology platform. The core EXCITE HD

ScanTools package includes the spin echo, time-of-flight, phase contrast and echo planar pulse

sequence suites along with FuncTool, ClariView, Multi-planar Volume Reformat and Interactive Vascular

Imaging analysis packages. In addition, this special offering of EXCITE HD ScanTools includes

specialized applications: iDrivePro Plus, EchoPlus, Asset, SmartPrep, FTMRA, 2D FIESTA, 2D FAT SAT

FIESTA, 3D FIESTA, FIESTA-C, 3D FAT SAT FIESTA, Double-Triple IR-FSE, ConnectPro, and GEs

exclusive LAVA body imaging. Expanded descriptions follow:

ScanTools Core Features - The core pulse sequence suites in EXCITE HD ScanTools provide

sequences with broad clinical applications value as well as sequences optimized for specific clinical
